Question 1

Which mouthpiece fits my hookah hose?

Accepted Answer

With silicone hoses, the mouthpiece's connector stem must fit the tubing's internal diameter. The connection should seal securely without being forced together. Many mouthpieces can be combined across brands. Permanently attached traditional hose handles and special connectors need to be checked against the specific model's requirements.

Question 2

Which way round does a disposable hookah mouth tip fit?

Accepted Answer

Some tips insert into the mouthpiece opening; others fit over its end. The purpose-shaped connector attaches to the handle, leaving the opposite side for your lips. Thin end or thick end is therefore not a reliable rule for every design. Use a separate tip for each person and discard single-use tips after use.

Question 3

How do I remove the hose from a hookah mouthpiece?

Accepted Answer

For a removable push-fit connection, hold the silicone tubing close to the connector and ease it off slowly with small movements. Do not pull from the far end of the hose, use pliers or bend or twist glass forcefully. Stop if the connection will not release or the handle is bonded in place.

Question 4

How do I clean a hookah mouthpiece?

Accepted Answer

Detach washable mouthpieces from the hose and clean the internal passage too, using lukewarm water, a suitable cleaner and a suitably sized soft brush. Rinse thoroughly and leave open to dry. Follow specific care instructions for wood, coatings and bonded components. Only boil or dishwasher-clean parts with explicit manufacturer approval; do not reprocess disposable tips for reuse.

Question 5

How do I use an ice mouthpiece with a gel cooling pack?

Accepted Answer

With an Ice Bazooka that has a removable gel insert, freeze the insert as instructed and return it to its housing. Then connect the mouthpiece to a compatible hose. Keep the gel container sealed. It belongs neither in the water base nor loose inside the hose. Stop using damaged or leaking cooling inserts.

Question 6

Can a hookah work without a mouthpiece?

Accepted Answer

Air can pass through an open hose, but the handle is the intended end piece with a suitable surface for your lips. A separate personal mouth tip is different: it provides an individual contact surface but is not mechanically necessary for airflow. Having your own tip does not replace cleaning the mouthpiece and hose.
