What is a Shisha Coal Basket?
A coal basket is a heat-resistant metal container used for the safe transport and storage of glowing natural coal. It is part of the basic equipment for every shisha smoker, especially when using natural coal heated with an external coal lighter. The basket protects surfaces from burns and allows easy carrying of hot coal from one place to another.
How Coal Basket works
After lighting the natural coal on an electric coal lighter or gas burner, the hot coal is placed into the coal basket with tongs. This serves as an intermediate station and storage for hot coals until they are placed on the shisha bowl. Thanks to often integrated heat protection and ventilation structure, the coal stays hot and can be transported safely. Some models also offer holders for tongs or small utensils.
