A mouthpiece project became a large St Petersburg production

Alpha Hookah began in Russia with individually made mouthpieces under the Anton Hookah name before complete hookahs and accessories followed from 2016. According to the manufacturer, the small workshop grew into a production site of around 4,000 square metres with more than 150 employees and over 500,000 stems sold. That scale explains how Alpha can maintain permanent model lines, spare parts and a constant stream of visual editions at the same time.

Model X made Alpha Hookah visible around the world

Model X arrived in 2018 and became the defining hookah of the brand. During a purge, smoke travels upward inside the construction, exits around the stem and spreads below the charcoal tray. The vertical system keeps the silhouette clean while clearing the vase quickly. Together with the large X-shaped heart and extensive color range, it created a look that was widely imitated across the Russian hookah scene.

An open draw that is not completely fixed

Model X combines a wide smoke path with a magnetic hose connector and a removable diffuser. The diffuser can be mounted in different orientations or removed, changing both bubbling and resistance. Without it, the water gives more feedback. With it, the hookah becomes quieter and airier. This mix of open airflow and simple adjustment became a central part of the Alpha identity.

Stainless steel, aluminium and polyacetal have separate jobs

Alpha does not make every visible part from stainless steel. On Model X, the smoke path, downstem, bowl adapter, tray and diffuser use stainless steel. Anodised aluminium shapes the sleeve and mouthpiece, while the heart and magnetic connector are made from polyacetal. Echo moves the heart to stainless steel, while Smart combines metal with an acrylic vase and silicone elements. The material mix therefore depends on the model and deserves a closer look before purchase.

Not every Alpha Hookah has the same draw

Model X is tuned very openly with an internal path of roughly 13 to 14 mm. The compact Beat uses 11 mm and gives more controlled feedback during the pull. Model S and Echo also feel denser than X, with Echo adjusting its classic draw through a three-stage diffuser. ORO offers four diffuser positions, while Smart uses a 13 mm path to balance its compact format with adjustable airflow.

Who Alpha Hookah suits

The established Alpha models focus mainly on one hose, making them well suited to solo sessions, a hose passed around the table and professional lounges using one hookah per group. Smokers who enjoy open airflow, magnetic connections and visible purge effects can choose between several genuinely different platforms. The brand is less focused on four permanently connected hoses or completely neutral stainless steel styling. Alpha combines Russian smoking character with color, graphics and immediate recognition.

From a compact cube to a full-size premium hookah

Alpha Hookah did not simply reproduce Model X at several heights. Beat reduces the platform to a more compact format, Smart moves the vase and engineering into an illuminated cube, Echo deliberately adds classic resistance, and ORO uses a more elaborate premium tune. Model S adds a heavily decorated stem with side and upward purging. Choosing an Alpha is therefore about smoking feel as much as color.

• 👑 ORO - the premium line with a more substantial presence, large tray, magnetic port and four diffuser positions from open to noticeably firm.
• 🐍 Model S - a decorative 43 cm model with snake artwork, side and upward purging, and more resistance than Model X.

Cyber, Joker and VNDL usually belong to the Model X world

Model X Special, Cyber, Joker, VNDL, Reverse, Artist and Stratos look like separate products, but they largely share the same X engineering platform. Differences mainly concern the sleeve, charcoal tray, coating, artwork and bundle. That matters when comparing prices: a more expensive visual edition does not automatically draw differently from the standard Model X. Some editions do include a vase or extra design parts, while others are sold as stem sets.

Which Alpha model fits which setup?

Model X is the direct all-round daily hookah for smokers who like open airflow. Beat fits smaller tables and travels more easily, but feels slightly firmer. Smart EXZO is built around limited space, mobility and a visual presentation. Echo is aimed at users who want more water feedback and a more traditional pull. ORO makes sense when adjustment, quiet operation and a larger premium presence matter more than maximum compactness.

Compatibility is not automatic across the brand

Many parts look similar but use different dimensions. M16x1.5 accessories are offered for models including X, S and Kappa, while Beat and Echo commonly use M14x1.5. Sleeves, trays, mouthpieces, vase gaskets and magnetic adapters are not freely interchangeable either. The range also includes traditional gasket vases, threaded glass and the acrylic vase built into the Smart concept. Always check model, generation and thread before ordering an upgrade.

Care depends on the material

Stainless steel parts can be cleaned with warm water and a suitable brush. Anodised aluminium, printed trays and powder-coated sleeves should be kept away from aggressive abrasives. Dry the magnet and port completely after rinsing. Alcohol, abrasive cleaners and strong chemicals must not be used on the Smart acrylic vase because they can cause stress cracks. Warm water and a soft sponge are sufficient.
