Besides brass, copper is also a very popular material in the production of traditional hookahs. Due to the fact that copper can be easily engraved, these hookahs are often elaborately decorated by hand, which makes each hookah practically a one-of-a-kind piece. Copper has a particularly interesting color, which disappears however by the tarnishing of the copper over time. In such a case, it helps to polish the hookah regularly to emphasize the original shine. Some people, however, prefer the color of the tarnished copper and do not polish the hookah for this reason. On the smoking behavior of the hookah, this does not affect negative or positive, so it is only a matter of personal taste.
